[SL - I have basically divided the “John & Ann” children up by church, but have added the Bishopsgate children to the Bethnal Green as they are in sequence and I’ve run out of John’s. St Mary Whitechapel, St Matthew Bethnal Green and St Botolph Bishopsgate are within a mile of each other. St Dunstan Stepney is further East.]

SL - I presume that Mary is dead

Death:

FreeBMD: 1839 Mar Qtr, Poplar; Orange, Robert, Vol 2 Page 252

Notes:

Martha Morgan witnessed marriage, 1st child named Ann Martha. Relative (?mother) of Mary?

Possible Roberts:

Robert (Thomas Abr. & Ann) 1795 (probably died young)

Robert (Abraham & Elizabeth) 1796

Robert (Thomas Abr. & Ann) 1800 (too young?)

Robert (Abraham & Mary) 1803 (too young?)

2nd child named Elizabeth.

Most probably son of Abraham & Elizabeth Bathurst b1796

Large gap in child production 1819-1827

This family seems to have spent a long time in the workhouse. It is interesting that the baptisms after the break say “Robert Orange and Mary (Ann) weaver”, it’s as if Mary were the bread winner. (She is certainly a weaver in 1841). Is it one family or two?
